48HR Film Project Open for Registration

48 Hour Project 1

The 48 Hour Film Project is back in Cape Town and once again hosted by BENCHfilms. 48 Hour Film Project is the largest filmmaking competition in the world. This year we welcome filmmakers from George and the greater Eden District to participate and compete along with Cape Town based filmmakers.

In a wild, sleepless weekend, you and your team will set out to make a short movie from scratch—that is: writing, shooting and editing in only 48 hours.  On Friday, 30 October 2015 you’ll get a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, all to include in your movie.  By Sunday, 1 November the movie must be complete. Each completed film is guaranteed a screening in the following week.

To be part of the 48HFP, register online HERE. Registration costs R1200 per team. Registration closes on October 30. Space is limited, so register today!

For more information, contact Hisham Samie or Alasdair McCulloch, Cape Town City Producers of the 48 Hour Film Project at capetown@48hourfilm.com

Cape Town and Eden District filmmakers, this is your chance to spend an intense 48 hours making a movie, having your film screened at a local theatre and to compete against other 48HFP cities from around the world!  The top films from around the world screen each year at the Cannes Film Festival.

The Cape Film Commission is proud to be sponsoring the Cape Town and George 48 Hr Film Project in 2015 together with the Cape Town Shnit Short Film Festival, with support from the NLDTF.
