Denis Lillie, Cape Film Commission CEO, speaking at the CFC’s launch of the Eden Independent Film Festival in George, said “I think a lot of it is making sure that we get productions that have some longevity. Films or commercials come in to town… for three or four days, or even up to twenty-one days. But if you can get more sustainable television programming here then you’ve got more opportunity of having sustainable jobs.
Pontsho Makhetha, General Manager of the SABC TV Content Hub said the SABC is looking for “producers that are up and coming from smaller places… producing fresh content, covering the whole of South Africa, [creating] content for us…”
